The ‘Ethical Approaches to Peaceful Coexistence Conference 2017’ is being organised as a partnership between the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UK), the Muslim Council of Wales (UK) and the Knowledge Exchange Program (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia). The conference will explore peaceful coexistence in a diverse world focusing on ethical perspectives from Islam and other faiths. Presentations will cover historic and contemporary examples of coexistence, theological underpinnings, inter-faith relations, and the dynamics of Islam and the West. Contributors include academics and those with expertise in the conference topic comprising both UK-based and international speakers. The conference hopes to make a meaningful contribution in an increasingly globalised world where peaceful coexistence is an imperative.
The event will be a one-day conference and will be held in Cardiff, UK on Tuesday 5th December 2017 from approximately 9.45am-5.45pm. The conference is free to attend and open to all, and we particularly welcome those with an academic interest or working in the field of coexistence.
The conference will be inaugurated by Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Sports.
